The Project RA4PV: Reliable Analytics For Photo Voltaic Plants: Herramientas De Análisis Inteligente Para Plantas De Generación Fotovoltaica presented by Ingenium and Ingeteam has been approved in the 2019 call for R+D+i projects «Retos Colaboración«, in the framework of the Plan Estatal de Investigación Científica y Técnica y de Innovación 2013 -2016. (National Grants Database Identifier: 474294; extract published in the «Boletín Oficial del Estado» de 28 de septiembre de 2019). Ingenium is the only research group of the University of Castilla-La Mancha with this type of projects approved in this 2019 call for R+D+i projects.

The objective of the project is to develop a novel monitoring system for inspecting photovoltaic plants, based on technical and scientific improvements added to the model proposed in the project: Intelligent tool for optimising the operation and maintenance of photovoltaic plants based on new monitoring systems on board UAVs: SCARAB”. This new system for supporting operation and maintenance (O&M) will be composed of drones with the capacity to inspect large areas and transport different sensors or cameras, new positioning systems to ensure the correct development of the drones’ trajectory, algorithms for identifying, quantifying and classifying defects or anomalies that cause a reduction in performance, such as hot spots or dirt, and the execution of the algorithm on an online server. All the data will be uploaded to a platform designed to process the information and obtain the results that allow more effective maintenance tasks to be carried out.

Ingenium and Ingeteam will meet in the next dates to organize the beginning of the project.
