Mr Carlos Quiterio Gómez Muñoz presented the thesis entitled “New Approaches on Fault Detection and Diagnosis for Structures Maintenance Management”
15-July-2016, the thesis entitled “New Approaches on Fault Detection and Diagnosis for Structures Maintenance Management” was presented in the Viva, at the Industrial Engineering school of Ciudad Real (University of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain), by the author Mr. Carlos Quiterio Gómez Muñoz. The thesis has been directed by Dr. Fausto Pedro García Márquez, both members of Ingenium Research Group.
The presented thesis introduced several novelties in the structural health monitoring field. The work proposed new approaches for condition monitoring for wind turbine blades and concentrator solar power plants. Ultrasonic testing together with signal processing was presented to detect icing, and delamination in wind turbine blades and to locate cracks in absorber pipes of CSPs. Renewable energies companies have revealed their interest in this work in the framework of European / National Research Projects.
Several case studies have been presented in order to validate these methods.
The work received the degree of “international Thesis” and it is endorsed by a remarkable scientific outcomes, e.g., JCR papers in JCR (4 published and 10 under revision), 9 international conference papers, an award, 3 chapter books, and 3 patents.
